New Roof Extension Over the past few years, the club house roof had begun to leak (ask Matt how many times the lights kept on fusing!). Since the clubhouse was built in the early 70's it had always had a flat roof and every few years, as all flat roofs do, they deteriorate and need replacing. Therefore the committee took a long term view to erect a pitched roof that would make the club house more aesthetically pleasing as well as have a life expectancy well in excess of any flat roof that we could build. However, the cost was huge! Initial estimates proved to be well short of the final cost, so therefore funding was taken from the Club funds, The Buxton Trust, a donation from David Sullivan and a commercial loan. The roof now contains the prospect of future internal development which can be pursued when funds allow. Work commenced in October 2004 by Rupert T. Gooch & Son and will be completed by early January 2005. Video Clips of the build 826k 3.4Mb
